If you’re reading this, chances are you’re passionate about making a positive impact through your nonprofit work. And as you know, efficiency and impact are key to success in the nonprofit world. However, for those of us knee deep in grant requests, website edits, marketing plans, board emails and donor thank yous, “efficiency” is often a fever dream.

That’s where chatGPT comes in.

Since learning about this tool on TikTok over the holidays, I’ve streamlined nearly 6-months of work on my organization’s “to-do list” in about six days.

I’m not going to lie — selfishly, I thought long and hard about gatekeeping this AI program as my own nonprofit’s productivity secret weapon, but it’s just too damn good and if you’re an Executive Director or you’re part of a Development or Marketing team at a small NGO like us, you need to get on the chatGPT train.

But before we get into how chatGPT can transform your nonprofit, let’s talk about what it is. Simply put, chatGPT is a chatbot that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to communicate with users and perform tasks. It works by understanding and responding to natural language input, making it a powerful tool for automating processes and enhancing communication with stakeholders.

Here are just a couple examples of what chatGPT (and other amazing chatbots like Copy.ai) can do for your org:

Increased efficiency and automation of processes: One of the main advantages of chatGPT is its ability to automate tasks and processes. By using chatGPT, nonprofits can save time and resources that were previously spent on manual tasks, such as answering frequently asked questions or processing intake requests. This can allow organizations to operate more efficiently and focus on their core missions.

Enhanced communication and engagement with stakeholders: Another benefit of chatGPT is its ability to enhance communication and engagement with stakeholders. Whether it’s answering questions from donors or providing information to clients, chatGPT can help nonprofits better serve their communities and build stronger relationships.

Optimization of marketing plans: ChatGPT can also be used to create and optimize marketing plans for nonprofits. By analyzing user data and behavior, chatGPT can provide insights on which marketing strategies are most effective and help organizations target their efforts more efficiently. (Try asking chatGPT how you can improve your marketing plan to drive more traffic to your website!)

Optimization of websites: In addition to marketing, chatGPT can be used to optimize websites for nonprofits. By analyzing user data and behavior, chatGPT can provide insights on how to improve the user experience and increase conversions on a website. This can include identifying areas of the website that may be confusing or difficult to navigate, and making recommendations for improvements.

Streamlining informational copy: Finally, chatGPT can be used to streamline informational copy on a nonprofit’s website. By analyzing user data and behavior, chatGPT can identify the types of information that users are most interested in and make recommendations for how to structure and present that information in a clear and concise manner. This can help ensure that users are able to easily find the information they need and understand the mission and work of the organization.

It’s literally that easy. Input what you need, and chatGPT will output your solution. After the last few years, us nonprofit professionals are tired. Let AI take a few items off your plate in 2023 so you have more time to focus on your staff, your beneficiaries and achieving your mission.

So what are you waiting for? My reccomendation: start out with a easy to use tool like Copy.ai to get started writing blogs, emails or even Instagram captions for your nonprofit.
